Olympiad Results In!

LAKE LURE - The results are in from this weekend's Hickory Nut Gorge Olympiad. Both runs had record turnouts and the triathlon continues to be one of the best in the region. The bike portion of the Race to the Rock was lenghtened to 25 miles and seemed be a hit with a larger turnout. Also a one and two-mile open-water swim was added as Lake Lure gets ready to host the national open water swimming championship in 2012.

The Rutherford County Race Series standings are updated with Jonathan Thacker and Lauren Powell retaining their lead, though there was some movement behind them for second and third! For the men, Matt Popowski won the 10K Dam Run and Tracy Ross the Race to the Rock. For the women, Ellen Seagle won both runs.
